RTD, ArtStar, and BUST

Had a blast this past weekend in Philadelphia at The 2010 Art Star Craft Bazaar. Met lot's of new folks and made a bunch of new friends in Philadelphia. The weather was awesome and the show was set up at Penn's Landing right on the Delaware River. Tons of live music and great artists/crafters displaying their eye candy. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and showed some love to RTD!

Big props to RTD's new Etsy friends Kimm and Lisa that shared the van ride down and back from NYC too! Both are super rad ladies that make beautiful things and laugh at RTD when he tries to be funny. I also had the pleasure of being next to the awesome Valerie Mayen who heads up Yellowcake and not only makes great stuff, but also tosses up 10% of her sales to local charity. RTD likes.

Next stop is BUST in Brooklyn this Sunday. Come on by if your in the neighborhood! Details below...

Utne Reader’s Stephanie Glaros In 3x3 Magazine: Guest Appearance - Greetings From Mr. Bird

RTD received his copy of 3x3 Magazine yesterday, as he turned to page 5, Greetings From Mr. Bird stared back at him with a twinkle in his eye. What an awesome little surprise! Stephanie Glaros, from Utne Reader Magazine, was this months art director interview for 3x3 Mag. Four illustrations from past Utne issues were featured with the interview and Greetings From Mr. Bird just so happened to be one of them. RTD’s had the pleasure of working with Steph on multiple occasions in the past and feels honored to be recognized in the same article with her. Steph is an amazing art director and an incredible supporter of the illustration world. We are all very lucky to have in our community. Check out the article in issue 14 of 3x3 Magazine too!

3x3 Mag Spring Clearance

Image Copyright © 2010 3x3 Magazine

Check it! I just started subscribing to 3x3 about a year ago and highly recommend adding the publication to your office or home library if you find yourself constantly in need of visual stimuli. Great mag for illustrators and designers especially. They are literally giving them away for free, you just have to pay shipping and handling. I was able to get over $300 worth of back issues and annuals for the cost of shipping which was $17. I'm sure that many of these will sell out quickly so don't hesitate! Details from 3x3 below...

special offer: Free Back Issues and Annual
Offer good through May 14, 2010
We’ve got to make room for our new publications and you can help.
¶ Just order any or all of our back issues or annuals at a bargain basement price: They’re free, all you have to do is pay the shipping and handling. Our back issue's regular price is $15 or $25 but now you can buy them for just the cost of shipping and handling. That means you can get one of our back issues for just $6 or the past twelve for just $15 in the US, $36 in Canada and $93 outside North America. The more you buy the cheaper it becomes to ship. The same deal goes for our annuals.
¶ But hurry it’ll be first-come, first-served. The offer is good until May 14 or while supplies last. Issue 13, 14 and the current annual are not included in this offer.
¶ Our regular pricing goes back into effect on Saturday, May 15.

STL Magazine: Women’s Health Series

These were a couple illustrations that were done for the April issue of St. Louis Magazine. The first, Dieting By Disposition, was an article on how to lose weight without losing your mind. SLM asked dietitians and a personal trainer to reveal some common diet personality types, and then suggest food plans and exercises tailored to each. The second article, Walking the Walk, focuses on the health benefits of walking, and explains the “right” ways to walk for optimal fitness.
