Brooklyn Lyceum 'Anti-Depression Session' Spring Craft Market
RAWTOASTDESIGN will be at the Brooklyn Lyceum 'Anti-Depression Session' Spring Craft Market this Saturday and Sunday. Should be a cool event, definitely come and check out all the artists that will be there this weekend if you have the opportunity! FREE admission! All the event details are below...
=========
Brooklyn Lyceum 'Anti-Depression Session' Spring Craft Market. Sat and Sun, May 2 and 3. 11am - 6pm. FREE.
Visit our Official Craft Market Website http://www.BKCraftCentral.com for full info, vendor list, etc...
Join us on MAY 2 AND 3 to continue our craft market series, giving a PUNCH to this icky recession - it is our Anti-Depression Session! All locally handmade products are merely $30 and under. 60 + local artisans will be on hand selling their beautiful wares throughout both days.
'The Anti-Depression Session: $30 and under' moniker and pricing structure is our spoofy nod to the unforgettable '30's of the Great Depression. We want everyone to thrive in this sucky economy - both crafters and consumers - so we want to help get the goods flowing in both directions. This is a time for keeping our money local and helping our artists thrive, all the while keeping an eye on the ole purse strings. This market is designed for those of us who can't spend like we once could, but still want to support the arts the best we can, get to know the artisans of NYC, and get lovely handmade things in the process. We'll have food and drink and swamp the place with music from the 20's - 40's. Food by our own Lyceum Cafe, DUB Pies, and Mogador Falafels.
So please come to the Market, buy as much as you like (get those mother's day and holiday gifts early), and let's keep our money out of Target and Walmart, people.

We are right in Park Slope, atop the R Train at Union St.

IndyKids coloring book
This illustration was a wrap around coloring book cover for IndyKids. “Coloring Outside the Lines,” was the title and each line art spread on the interior was done by a different artist and featured examples of creative and inspiring political protest from history. The launch party is here in NYC on May 15th if anyone would like to attend - LINK.

Who’s Accountable?
This was an illustration I did for this months Main Line Today issue titled "Who’s Accountable?." In the piece a ticked-off educator laments our culture of irresponsibility. Read the full article here - LINK.

Time Out Chicago
This was for a recent restaurant article titled "Wait lifting" for Time Out Chicago. It talked about jumping ship from recession-proof restaurants with long lines and opting for restaurants nearby with no wait and that could use the boost. Full article can be read here - LINK

Fabulous Flushers
One of those sweet and rare assignments that immediately commands nothing more than a toilet and a rainbow. This was for a Talk of the Town blurb in the April issue of 417 Magazine. The headline was "Fabulous Flushers" and the paragraph highlighted some really elaborate and over-the-top bathrooms that were recently featured in some of the Branson, MO showrooms. Look ma, I got paid to draw a toilet :) Life is good.
